Sony presents two new smartphones

Sony announces 2 new smartpones for the Xperia line-up, the Xperia acro S and Xperia go.

The Xperia acro S: This is a high end smartphone and quite protected against the nature's elements. It has a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and runs on ICS, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 4.3-inch 720p HD Reality display with wet finger tracking technology and it's covered with a scratch resistant and shatter proof glass, a 1.3MP front camera and a 12MP rear camera and records 1080p full HD videos, it has also IP57 certification it means that it's dust proof and up to 30mins under 1m of water, GLONASS GPS, HDMI, WiFi, Bluetooth and NFC.A pretty good phone huh ?

Xperia go: The Xperia go is his smaller brother but comes with some protection against natural elements. It has a 1GHz dual-core runs on Gingerbread but will receive an ICS update, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, 3.5-inch Reality display, 5MP rear camera that records 720p HD videos, comes with IP67 certification that means that it will offer the same protection against water as the Xperia acro and at the difference to the acro s that it's completely dust proof, WiFi and Bluetooth.








Both will be available worldwide as from Q3 this year.

LG LS860 "Cayenne" spotted again


We saw the LG LS860 "Cayenne" spotted earlier this week but now it's been spotted once with more and better specs.  It now has a 1.2 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor runs on ICS, 1GB of RAM, 4-inch WVGA IPS display, NFC, LTE, a QWERTY physical keyboard and a 1,700mAh battery to power it all.



It's also rumored that it will launch through Sprint's network in Q3. It's not a bad phone maybe it's a small version of the previously leaked LS970.

Symbian Carla is not cancelled




Do you remember Symbian Carla ? This update will have a codename, Belle FP1 the update will start to roll out to Nokia PureView and Nokia 603, Nokia 700 and the Nokia 701 but the N8 and E7 will not get this update but will get another update called Belle Refresh. 

The Belle FP1 update will bring the following:
  • The processor clock speed will be 1.3GHz.
  • HTML 5 support.
  • Improved browser.
  • Dolby headphone.
  • A new set of widgets.
  • Improved notifications.
  • A new version of Nokia Maps.
  • Multi-tasking view.
  • Microsoft apps.

More PureView phones in the works

As we saw the first PureView smartphone earlier this year and now more PureView phones are coming and this has been confirmed by Nokia's Head of Product Marketing, Vesa Jutila. Vesa said that more such devices are in the works. They will all have high resolution sensors obviously Carl Zeiss's optics and all PureView's wizardry in a slimmer form factor. What do you think ? LG LS860 leaked

The LG LS860 "Cayenne" emerges in a picture. The leaked specs are a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 processor that runs Android 4.0 ICS, 4-inch WVGA IPS display, features LTE and a QWERTY physical keyboard. We already saw another leaked smartphone from LG.

Samsung Galaxy Appeal for AT&T announced, a budget smartphone. It has an 800MHz single-core processor that runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread customized with TouchWiz, 512MB of RAM, 1.8GB of internal storage expandable up to 32GB, 3.2-inch display, a 3MP rear shooter, surprisingly a QWERTY physical keyboard, WiFi, Bluetooth and a 1,300mAh battery to power it all.

A PC in the size of a USB drive.

Have you ever imagined a PC the size of USB drive ? It's here ! and packs some good specs for it's size. The MK802 has a 1.5GHz single-core CPU and runs on the latest version of Android, 512MB of RAM, Mali-400 GPU that is also present in the Galaxy SII, WiFi, microSD card slot, microUSB, HDMI port and obviously a full size USB 2.0. It's amazing huh ?



Another company, FXI nicknamed their USB computer 'Cotton Candy' and has some really good specs too. It has a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, a quad-core Mali-400 GPU, 1GB of RAM, microSD card slot, WiFi, HDMI port, Bluetooth 2.1, microUSB and a full size USB 2.0. Samsung files for more trademark names

Samsung files for six more trademark names apart from the others made earlier this year. They could be new mid-range or budget smartphones. The six new trademark names are: Galaxy Epic, Galaxy Rivet, Galaxy Lunge, Galaxy Forge, Galaxy Mission, Galaxy Mission and the Galaxy Welid. Or as someone said in Phandroid's comments they could be just carrier names for the SIII. We'll wait and see guys :)

NTT Docomo Samsung Galaxy SIII announced

The Galaxy SIII for NTT Docomo comes with a bit of change in specs. Instead of the Exynos 4 Quad it will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8690 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM instead of 1GB and it's 9mm thick instead of 8.6mm. All the other specs remain the same. This is a Japanese-only version.

The HTC Desire C is now official, previously rumored as HTC Golf. It has a 600MHz single-core processor and runs... you won't believe it ! It runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage expandable up to 32GB but comes with a free 25GB of Dropbox storage, comes with Beats Audio technology, 3.5-inch HVGA LCD display, 5MP rear camera, microUSB, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, 3G, HSPDA, optional NFC and a 1,230mAh battery to power it all.
