Samsung ATIV S annouced, runs WP8

 
Samsung ATIV S is announced, runs WP8 out of the box. Under the hood there's a 1.5GHz dual-core processor that runs WP8, 1GB of RAM, 16 or 32GB of internal storage & supports microSD cards, 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED, a 1.9MP front camera and an 8MP rear shooter, NFC, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi, A-GPS and a 2,300mAh battery to power it all. Not a bad smartphone, we'll be seeing some high-end WP8 phones soon.

Tizen pushed back to 2013


Samsung pushes back it's Tizen OS to 2013, that will replace Bada OS. Developers blame the slow progress due to lack developer tools and  poor software upgrades. Samsung till the remainder of 2012 will focus development on Windows Phone 8 & Android devices.

Two new Samsung smartphones running WP8 leak



The Samsung Odyessey & Marco are the leaked WP devices we're talking about. They both pack good specs.

Samsung Odyessey: The Odyessey has a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, a 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED display, 2MP front camera & an 8MP rear camera & NFC.

Samsung Marco: The Marco also has a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 4-inch WVGA display, 2MP front camera & 5MP rear camera & LTE.

Both are listed to come out in Q4.

Microsoft will announce the next-gen WP, June 20th

As Microsoft announced Windows 8 for desktop and tablets it's for the mobile version of it and here it is. Microsoft will announce the next-gen WP on June 20th in San Francisco, the Windows Phone 8.0 Apollo should be the name for the next WP. Two things are confirmed that next version of WP will have multi-core CPU support and will support apps from previous generations of WP. So let's wait until June 20 and see what it has to offer.

Samsung WP 8 devices confirmed

Samsung confirmed that in the second half of this year Windows Phone 8 Apollo devices will hit the market but Windows Phone 8 devices will be available not earlier than October.
